Purchased this for my niece, and she LOVED it. It's a great way to open dialogue on bullying, as both the setting and juvenile-aimed humor seems very real. As a sidenote, there are a few curse words along the way, so if you're offended by "damns" and "bitches," you may want to reconsider. Granted, such language is kept in check, but it does rear its head time to time. Overall interesting story and well worth the read for middle-schoolers.
My son's 7th grade class had to read this book for summer reading. What a relevant story! I couldn't stop reading! I try to read the books that my kids have to read for school so that I can adequately help them to do their reports and I just absolutely loved this book! An eye-opener as to what some kids really have to deal with, but also what empowers them to take action. Hopefully, bullies will recognize themselves, realize what they're doing, stop doing it, and maybe even reconcile with their victims.
