The beginning to a wonderful series. Your normal, average girl finds out she is a Princess, making her life, well, not so normal anymore. Mia is an interesting and down to earth girl that almost any reader can relate to. Throughout the entire Princess Diaries series, you watch her grow up and you experience her great times, her successes, her failures, and her heartbreaks. The story is written very well, and I can honestly say that during the series, I cried with Mia numerous times. This first book is great, and it's just the beginning to something even more wonderful. Pick it up, read it, and you won't be disappointed.
This book was a great book to read for young teens. No matter how detailed the movies is, the book is or has a better experience. The book can catch the reader's attention in a matter of pages. This book might even be one of those that u can not put down late at night. Its also the kind that you want to find out what happens on the next page or the next entry. I'd recommend this book to teens that like romance, comedy and most of all fantasies.
I read this book after I saw the movie. The book is fun to read and I think is even better than the movie (which I also liked). It is all diary entries and "essays" written by Mia, the main character. She starts out as a gawky teenager, but unlike most of us who just need to learn how to grow into adulthood, she has to grow into a young woman capable of appearing to be - and being able to be - the ruler of a small country. All in short order. Talk about pressure! And she didn't even know she was royalty until this bomb was dropped on her... Anyway, I really like the book, if you haven't figured that out by now. I'm glad the movie came out, otherwise I never would have thought to buy the book! I also appreciate reading a book where teenage angst and coming of age is believably restricted to a PG rating!Read full review

I've wanted to read the books, so I decided to check on here to get them cheaper than the book store. I haven't had a chance to read the books yet because of school, but I am very excited. I have read the synopsis and the reviews, and I can't wait to have time to read them. They go into so much more detail than the movie. There's 15 books (I think. I only have the first 5).
