This sequel to The Prince & Me casts the same actor as the prince but really falls flat on the new princess'. It's no surprise they couldn't find another Julia Stiles to star as Paige Morgan since most of their cast are struggling sub B actors. I realize now that the multi talented Julia Stiles literally carried the whole original show and all of the remakes are progressively painfully disappointing to say the least. I only gave this two stars because the 3rd and 4th pathetic remakes don't even rate one star combined. Luke Mably struggles in this episode as the prince like a fish out of water and gets progressively worse in each episode which should also be blamed on the directors and production crews. Buy the original version and hurry fast and quickly sell the others before they become totally worthless and only used for party coasters.Read full review

It was an ok movie. I agree about the actors though. Should have stuck more to the original. One thing I have to point out, that I can't believe others haven't: THERE IS NO WAY AN ANTIQUATED(MEANING "OUTDATED") LAW COULD BE VALID. In Europe royalty is not the law of the land, so the royals are private citizens, and can marry who they want, and no one could stop them. They didn't have to find a loophole. Was Eddies mother looking for an excuse for him not to marry Paige again? If so she's a back-stabber. She talked about protecting the monarchy not the law. Maybe she was scared though, so maybe she's not a back-stabber. I don't believe for one minute though, that they would have to find a loophole in a case like this, though. Chantell
Hollywood is all about sequels! It's hard to watch any movie these days, especially one that does well at the box office, without getting the inevitable sequel or 2 or 3 or more. One has to wonder at times whether or not these slew of sequels is worthwhile? Way too often, the answer is a profound "NO!" Most rarely come close or live up to the original in both draw & quality. This brings us to this film, The Prince & Me 2: The Royal Wedding (2006). One need only look at the cast list to raise some doubts about whether this sequel should have been made. 2004's The Prince & Me featured very few recognizable names as it was & none of them returned for the sequel. In fact, the only returning cast member is Luke Mably who plays the prince. Everyone else has been replaced including the other title character. Picking on an unknown cast may seem a little harsh as plenty of excellent films have featured unknown casts. While this is not an excellent film, it is far from a bad one! The story continues on from the first. Paige Morgan has relocated to Denmark to marry her prince & finish medical school. She endeavors to embrace her new country in every way learning about it's culture & language while trying to get through med school. To add to this, wedding plans are underway for her to marry newly crowned King Edvard. One way or another, Edvard must be married by his 23rd birthday or abdicate. All is going well until... Albert, a prince of Norway, is broke! He's a middle aged gambler who has frittered away the fortune given to him by right of succession. His only hope is to marry off his daughter to a wealthy royal family so he recoup his lost fortune. One of his henchmen finds the loophole he needs! It seems that since Edvard ascended to the throne unmarried, by ancient Danish law which states that he must marry a Scandinavian Princess or abdicate his throne. Albert just happens to have such a princess & rushes to tell Edvard's parents the good news. The news is not well received, but Albert agrees to keep the news out of the press while Edvard looks for a loophole himself. Meanwhile, Albert moves into the castle & brings his daughter with him, Princess Kirsten. Kirsten is a childhood friend of Edvard's who was a bit of an ugly duckling. She's all grown up now & as Paige puts it, looks like a super model. The middle of the film is taken up by a battle for Edvard's affections between Paige & Kirsten. Kirsten at 1st sabotages Paige at every turn under the guise of a friend appalled by her father's scheme. Paige learns all too quickly what Kirsten is up to & the war is on. This makes for a very entertaining segment for this film! During all this, Paige is still getting things ready for the wedding, (will it really happen?)& trying to finish her school work as exams are closing in as well. Edvard is getting fed up with Paige's distance & Kirsten is closing in for the kill. Add in the paparazzi & the real press who add to Paige's woes. Meanwhile, the search for a loophole continues, but it is not looking good! Will Edvard & Paige get married? Or will the scheming Albert & Kirsten get their wish? Hey, I'm not going to tell you that! Watch the movie! In conclusion, This film makes for a nice heartwarming romantic comedy & stands on it's own without the original so it is a sequel that works! It's entertaining & nicely made with many breath taking sets. The acting is good & the characters believable. Rent or buy, this film is a winner!Read full review
This is a continuation of the Prince and Me. A royal cousin, Albert, wants his daughter to be the queen of Denmark and uses an ancient law to prevent the wedding of Edward and Paige to interject his daughter, Kirsten as the bride. Kirsten portrays herself as a friend who is there to help Edward and Paige. She does everything she can to break them up. Edward doesn't want to believe his childhood friend would do what Paige is telling him Kirsten is doing. This causes a problem for the couple and Paige leaves the castle believing Kirsten has won and Edward wants the match. She recognizes Edward's "Diplomatic" smile and realizes the marriage to Kirsten is not what Edward wants. With the help of her friends Paige finds a later law that states a future queen doesn't have to be of noble birth at the last minute. In the end Paige gets her fairy tale and Kirsten has mud on her face, literally. This is a wonderful movie and a must see.Read full review
