I decided to buy "Paleo Diet For Athletes" so that I would be able to manage my weight in a more natural way. I am currently a student working towards my bachelors degree in Business Administration, so I have not been able to read it in its entireity. What was most appealing about this diet is that it makes sense. With all of the over processed, commercialized, and unhealthy foods on the market it is no wonder why seventy five percent of the adult population in America is overweight. I believe that people need to let go of the modern conveniences regarding diet, so that they are able to obtain a higher degree of health. In my war against weight gain, I have a new weapon the "Paleo Diet For Athletes".
This is a great resource for the serious athlete. This book goes into extensive detail about fueling endurance performance at sprint, intermediate, and ultra-endurance levels. There is information on dietary changes for different phases of your training, in addition to specifics on what to eat on for recovery and on race days. I learned more than I expected about nutrition, including information that was new to me, such as how the consumption of acidic foods can be detrimental to athletes.
Paleo Diet for Athletes is loaded with good info. I have been on Paleo since March 2012 and this is the 3rd book I have read on Paleo. It has helped me to get a fresh out look on this eating plan.
A whole new information about the way than we eat... I'm trying to make the change!!! I want to run my first triathlon this 2011.triatlhon this 2011...
I liked the twist on our eating habits that Mr. Friel and Dr. Cordain put in front of me. The reading was not to "Doctor Wordy". All in all informative and I am applying certain aspects to my diet.
