This is one of the best books I have read on weight lifting. Besides presenting good programs, the book explains why the methods are used so that you can use them in designing your own workout routine. As a woman, I would highly recommend this book over Lou Schaffer's book specifically for women. This one contains more information and, in my opinion, better workouts. Although, of course, you'll have to modify the calorie intake. Follow this book and you will get great results! :)
This book is incredible! It explains six basic moves to do for lifting, in many many different ways. This book is a great reference for people who are just starting to work out or it is a resource to get you out of the same routine at the gym. The author provides a thorough rationale for everything in the book. I learned a great deal from reading this book and would highly recommend it. Best of all, this book scripts out all of your workouts for an entire year!
I tried the the program from this book for a some months with very little positive results. The sessions are too long, some lasted up to 90 minutes, and by the 60th minute i was drained. I felt exhausted every day of the week. Also, some of the exercises are very unconventional and a little embarrassing to do at a gym or any place where someone is watching. One of the good things about the book is the author's emphasis on compound exercises. If anyone buys this book, I suggest you make changes to the program to make the routines shorter.
