I have bought this book over and over. I have given it for Christmas, Birthdays, Friendship, Anniversaries, etc. It is one of the best and most simple mexican cooking books I have ever used. I must tell you, this is true Mexican cuisine, not Tex-Mex or any other border cuisines. You will find it simple and easy to use. The way the author decribes her dishes are exact and she has learned from some the best cooks in Mexico...the locals selling their ingredients at the markets. You will love this book!!!
Foods I have forgotten about making since the passing of my Grandmother and Mom. I haven't cooked like this in a long-time. I am proud of my hairitage (Mexician American). My icons have left me with some of the guessing of how to make some of the dishes I was used to. Now I can have and share those wonderful tastes again. God bless authors like Elisabeth L Ortiz to have produced such an authentic book. Worth the buy.
Maybe for a beginning cook but not a great cook. Too basic for any experienced cook to benefit from.
