This book should be required reading for the entire human race! Whether you are a Christian, a former Christian, or pretty much anyone curious about this man called Jesus, please read this book. Sylvia not only fills in the blanks on the years we are not told about, she clears up confusion about the ones we ARE told about. She delves into facts about the rewriting and editing of the bible, proof about Jesus' whereabouts before his ministry and so much more! Some of her info comes from her spirit guide Francince, but most of it comes from historical documents, and common sense. For those who are afraid to read this book, and I know some people are, why be afraid? Sylvia does not question the basic faith, if anything (if you can read the book with an open mind) she strengthens one's faith potential. She does not try to tear down Christianity, the belief in Christ. All she is doing is trying to right some wrongs done to all of us when some people thought themselves fit to rape our scriptures and steal our history. Most of these things are not her opinions, ideas, etc. Much of this book (as I mentioned earlier) is based on facts readily available in historical texts. You DO NOT NEED to defend the writers (mostly, if not entirely, unknown) and editors of the accepted (and incomplete) books of the bible in order to be a Christian. Christianity is about Christ and God, not about church leaders' political and financial advancements. Or at least it should be. Contrary to what appears to be a common belief, you CAN believe in Christ and God without believing the lies many churches have fed us over the years. This book will inform you, and move you. Highly recommended!Read full review
I have several other books of Sylvia Browne and I could not resist to buy this one about Jesus. I never knew that the bible was written/put together almost 300 years after his death. I also never heard of his "lost years" before. They don't seam lost to me. He accepted other believes and learned from them. Because in the end there is only ONE god, no matter what believe system you follow. The "story" about Jesus dying on the cross for our sins never made sense to me. Him surviving this ordeal makes him so much more human. And I can understand why the church did not (and still does not) want us to know how much influence Marie Magdalene had. So all in all I love this book. It brought me closer to god and further away from the catholic church.
Her Jesus is not the Jesus of the Bible. This is what she says. Her "spirit guide, Francine" says that Joseph impregnated Mary and that it was not a virgin birth. She says "We do not hold that Christ was God, nor that he died for our sins nor that he rose from the dead." It sounds like Sylvia's "spirit guide, Francine" is a lying spirit, It sounds like maybe her "spirit guide" is actually a demon. What does Sylvia Browne's church Novus Spiritus believe? Well for one they believe in multiple gods (Polytheistic), the main ones being Om - the Father God, and Azna - the Mother God. They also believe that Jesus did not die on the cross, that He married Mary Magdalene, who escaped to France. They believe that Jesus died about the age of 86. As you can see, she is not a Bible believing Christian. She is deceived herself and is trying to deceive others. Sylvia Browne has come up with fantasy and managed to pawn it off on alot of uninformed people as truth. She quotes the Bible, but totally twists the meaning of what the Bible says. She is a pyschic and the Bible clearly states to stay away from pyschics and mediums. She mixes a little truth with alot of falsehood and outright lies. She believes in reincarnation, which the Bible does not teach. Some psychics use a method called cold or warm readings to make people believe that they are getting information about a dead person. Cold readings are where they make an educated guess about something about you, buy picking up clues, by what you say or do, or your appearance or age. If you tell them the information is wrong, they use a number of ways to distract you, for example some will tell you that they are getting information from a "playful" spirit that tells them false things, etc..... warm readings are where they have microphones in the studio before their show and they listen in, as people talk to friends that have come with them about deceased friends or relatives, and then they pick those people in the audience that they listened in on and use that information to make those people and others think they are getting a message from a spirit. A book that exposes the New Age, that I recommend is by Johanna Michaelsen. Her book "The beautiful Side of Evil and "Like Lambs to the Slaughter", expose alot of these lies. I pray for Slvia Browne, because I know God loves her and everyone, but He doesn't want any of us to be deceived and that is what she is doing. I give this book a poor rating. Don't waste your time on it. go to www.stopsylviabrowne.com to see all the things she has predicted that were false or did not come trueRead full review
I love this book. Sylvia/the book has completely changed my perceptions and altered beliefs (by my own will). I used to ask questions about the Bible and Jesus. The things that didn't make sense. But after reading this she has left little room for more questions. This book helps you determine what you believe in and I think that is very important. It's relatable, understandable, and above all, IT MAKES SENSE!!! Things in the Bible can be so confusing, but this book really helped me find answers and it raised me up spiritualy to a place that I am comfortable at. Before, I couldn't understand things, but this has helped me come to my own conclusions. Thanks Sylvia, and it's nice to have almost everything backed up by facts. ~Heather~
Please do not let the individual who wrote a bad review here on eBay discourage you from buying this book. Their reviews are not based on the actual book, instead, they were based upon their disagreement/disapproval of the author's beliefs as a whole. Unfortunately, some people are completely threatened by anyone and anything that may contradict or differ from what they were taught or believe. This was an excellent book and kept me interested up to the very end! I listen to audio books when I am driving in the car. It makes sitting in traffic a lot more bearable and, while I was listening to this audio book, I actually found myself looking forward to driving!
