Could have used a LITTLE cutting, as it was long...but historians have a hard time cutting ANYTHING related to all that research! And what carried it for me was the historical aspects. I like knowing something really happened... I esp. liked the wife. She was greater than her era, in so many ways, even though her actual scenes were not many. Pattinson has lost some of the heart-throb aspects of his career, or maybe that was the motivation in taking the part (in the additional information at the end, he talks about being in an ACTUAL jungle to make the film, and the discomforts such as real snakes falling on staff and actors!). Sometimes we forget all that goes into making a film realistic. And if nothing else, this one was that, not to give away too much. I would recommend this movie for family viewing, if the children are AT LEAST TEEN. It is a little heavy, and there IS VIOLENCE, but no sex. Ultimately, Fawcett may have been one of the few Brits in his era to recognize ethnocentrism, and speak against it. Just as Mrs. Fawcett understood sexism. Read full review

This movie does hold your interest but without giving away to much information; does have a very flat ending. This movie is based on a true story so the ending is what really happened but the movie does a lot of cheating at the end and the viewer is left with his/her mouth open and eyes rolling.

Really enjoyed Robert Pattinson in this. I was kinda surprised but in a great way. Thought this was going to be more like a documentary.
