A hilarious unintentional goof up on the cover art that was later edited on the laser disc release. What a cool find. The urban legend about the phallic tower being deliberately added seems debunked by Snopes but is definitely there on the VHS cover intentional or not. If you ever run across a laser disc copy you can see that the art on that cover is edited to remove the offending spire. What a cool find and a great addition to any collectors trove of Disney rarities!

I bought this video for a friend who, like me, prefers things the way they were when we were kids; this includes the Disney films. The way we grew up with them, the color was different, the pre-film trailers (if there were any) were different, and the cases were different also. We love the original clamshell boxes that these films came in too, and in a way, now that we are adults, we are trying to recapture some of the familiarity of our childhoods in these ever-changing times. My friend also has fond memories of this particular film that date back to her childhood. That's why I bought this; I thought it would be a wonderful Christmas gift, the gift of a small glimpse back to a time in her life when things were just a little bit simpler, and a lot more magical. I would like to thank the seller for affording me the opportunity to do so.Read full review
Ok, the movie is the greatest movie on this planet. My children love it and my grandparents love it, even my great aunt loves it. As a matter of fact, I believe that my kitty cat also loves this most grand film. However, I just realized that the art on this "banned" cover has a male organ on it. How do I know that? Well for starters, years ago I took a physical education class, and we learned about what this male organ looks like. Where is the image you may ask? The image is masked as a tower in the center of the castle. You must have the classic version of this movie to see. If you do, I suggest you make Disney pay you lots of money as a just settlement on having your life scarred. Even though this movie is an all American classic that everybody loves, people are for the most part jerks...so why not take advantage of this plain and simple fact and complain to Disney, even though they banned this cover already. Whatever you do, do not let your children see the cover. Well, cheerios!Read full review
This is a wonderful classic movie! The story is wonderful and songs are really fun! I have a hard time respecting anyone asking thousands for something that is easily found for under $50, yes even the banned cover goes for less than $50.. look for yourself. But hey, at least you’ll get a great story.. course you would have to have a vhs player and you’ll have to be ok with terrible quality of picture, but at least you’ll enjoy the story after you paid a small fortune *insert eye roll*
