This is the book that my instructor recommended for the Medical Coding and Billing class that she teaches. It is very informative writing with great illustrations. Haven't had a chance to look at cd yet.

This book has short chapters with GREAT review exercises (called "Activities" in this book) at the end of each chapter. Quite a variety of different activities to choose from that will reinforce your knowledge of the terms. The chapters have great examples of how the terms are used. There is a CD that is extremely easy to use and extremely helpful. It even keeps a record of each activity you do and your scores from the 1st chapter to the last. You can get a printout anytime you want of your % complete and your testing scores. I think this is one of the best medical texts I have used in all of my classes and would recommend it to anyone. If your professor requires it for a Medical Terminology class, I'm sure you will agree with me. If not required, maybe you should purchase a used copy just as a reference and for the practice activities.Read full review
I bought this book, The Language of Medicine by Davi-Ellen Chabner about a month ago. I am taking a medical terminology class and this was the required text. So far I really like this book. It is very detailed and has an interactive CD that makes learning fun and interesting. This is a great book for anyone in the medical field to have on hand for quick reference, or for someone who just enjoys learning.
I brought this textbook for my Medical Terminology class, an elective I decided to take up. I am very satisfied with this book, the contents is amazing and simple to grasp. I'm a nursing student and is currently taking microbiology. This textbook (class) is definitely useful and I only wish I knew about this before entering A&P I! It would have made my life so much easier. This book breaks down terms, most of which are common, and makes it easy to understand. There are a lot of practices and excerises for you to test yourself. This textbook is a must have for those who is interested or is going into medical professions!
This book is amazing, I took the course for medical office assistant about 10 yrs ago, and I have the fifth edition of this book, upon receiving this edition, there has been wonderful changes, like the pictures and indepth information, which is in a sequence that is easily learned, if you are looking for something regarding the medical field and medical terminology this is the book for you, awesome, amazing and you want to keep working on it for hours on end, enjoy
