Do you like black and white horror movies? Do you like films that take themselves seriously, and provide a few scares, but are so ridiculous in parts that they won't give you (or your kids) nightmares? Do you prefer horror films where some of the characters die, but others find a logical way to escape the monsters, rather than hopeless films where all the characters get picked off one by one? Then you may want to watch KILLER SHREWS. The good: some of the people trapped on the island find an offbeat but workable way to escape the shrews. The bad: the heroine, Ann, does nothing but point and scream; she is such a helpless liability to the men that, for the sake of women everywhere, I wished the shrews would devour her. The ridiculous: the shrews, in full-body shots, are obviously dogs wearing rat costumes. No sex, no gore; lots of screaming; a few scary close-ups of teeth-gnashing shrew faces.Read full review
This movie is very entertaining, and has very good special effects for an older movie. I remember watching this movie when I was a lot younger and was always scared by it. It has a creepy ambiance, with a hurricane on the horizon, (lots of wind sounds, thunder, etc.) and the life-sized shrews are very well done and very realistic looking. Great movie, hard to find and the acting is very good. The movie came well packaged and in excellent condition and I am so glad I purchased this. I highly recommend this movie to those who like the old fashioned horror movie with real scares-no computer generated special effects here!

I bought the Killer Shrews because the last time I seen it was in 1967. It was at my sister's house as a late night movie when she lived beside my parents and me. I spent the night with her and we watched the movie before we went to bed. It was kinda scarey at the time when as a young teenager. I remembered bits and pieces of the movie from 1967, but I forgot the overall movie. I knew James Best was in it. That was some of his great work before playing sheriff Roscoe Cotrane on Dukes of Hazzard. I forgot about Ken Curtis being in it. That was before he played Festus Haggin on Gunsmoke. He done a great job as well. Overall this is a great movie. It keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering what's gonna happen next. It brought back memeories of long ago. It is a good movie and I love it.
This DVD was made sometime in the fifties and is a lesser known "Creature Feature" which features Dachshounds wearing false fangs to make them look like giant Schrews!. Seriously wooden acting, and a silly plot make this very hard viewing and it is for the admirers of lousy movies who would enjoy this. The cast is made up of amateurs who's first picture this was,and as far as I know none have ever been heard,or seen again!.
I found shrews dead in my pool every single day last year. Like a mouse, but with no tail.. like a mole, but huge eyes. It drove me crazy not knowing what is was. When a friend told me what it was, and mentioned this stupid-ass movie, I HAD to see it. It's totally worthless, and it's worth a dime to go see... but it's worth every cent I paid... because now I can sleep at night! btw.. It is not at all clear why you, eBay, want this review. I understand you wishing for seller/buyer reviews, but why would you care about the product?
