Author Biography
Audrey Lee began writing in her teens and has made books, writing, oral storytelling and now publishing the driving force of her life. Using many allegories, she likes to bring real problems and situations to readers in both an enjoyable and yet insightful way. She writes both fiction and non-fiction to share with others her love of words and profound realizations. And yet, she does so in a way that enlightens while entertains the hearts, minds and spirits of those who join her world through books. Audrey Lee has written since she was 15 years old; however, began in earnest in 2001. At that time she began writing and sending Christmas stories in lieu of sending Christmas letters or cards. It has become her tradition to celebrate the season of giving with an original short story for her loved ones. Each one is an allegory that represents a concept she has learned or problem she has struggled with during the year. The catalyst came when Audrey began telling oral stories. Soon, she realized that storytelling was a big part of her past with bedtime stories of Dumbo told by Uncle Doc and Grandpap stories told by Dad. As a parent, she told improvised stories to her boys with their teddy bears, not even remembering that her Uncle used to do for her as well. Oddly enough, it was this newfound passion of storytelling finding her that encouraged her to publish the stories that she had written over the years. Once Upon a Storytime at Christmas is the compilation of Christmas stories that she traditionally writes each year during the Holidays, so look for more stories to come. Audrey currently teaches workshops, appears in and produces storytelling events, private readings and stories, produces video stories and book trailers as well as writes and has published nine books.
