This is a great DVD set for those who love The Karate Kid movies. The original film is the best, and the second two are not half bad if you can forgive some mild predicability. These films were well scored, well acted and moving. The only unfortunate thing is that for whatever reason, I couldn't find a collector set that included BOTH the recent remake with Jaden Smith (2010) and the film with Hilary Swank "The Next Karate Kid" (1994). There must be legal or copyright reasons I guess. I'm glad I got the one with the Hilary Swank movie -- great breakout role for her, and Pat Morita is as awesomely sweet and fierce as ever.

Just as any sequel series the interest wanes with each successive release. This set should have ended after Karate Kid II. The inclusion of the last two chapters in the life of Daniel not only diluted the enjoyment, some magic was lost as Ralph Macchio aged.

well where do I start? First these movies are the best. I do love them. There are a few things that bother me as in ending on the third one was so fake and silly due to the fact that NO one in their right mind would follow such an ass as NED to the docks to fight him after he bashed out the car windows and is a part of a violet school gang. I thought it was horrid how the girl beat up Ned and then Miyagi finished off the school thug named Colonel Dugan. What jerks Ned and Dugan were but Julie (Hilary Swank) rocked and kicked major tush! So all in all, they are well done. I just would have liked the ending of the third to be a bit more believable as it was the last. The guy McGregor should have finished them off along with Miyagi not Julie. She was influenced by feminism and that does not play well with men. Not liked by my husband, a brown belt and a real man's man. So These are nice for older kids not younger ones. Too much violence and they get it on TV. I do recommend these in view of the garbage that Hollywood is producing these days.......These are a keeper!Read full review
Ralph Macchio, Pat Morita and Hilary Swank star in these 4 drama films. The Karate Kid -(1984) A bullied teen befriends a Japanese handyman teaching him karate. The Karate Kid II -(1986) Mr. Miyagi and Daniel visit Okinawa and run into trouble. The Karate Kid III -(1989) Daniel and Mr. Miyagi meet a karate champion hired by rivals wanting revenge. The Next Karate Kid -(1994) Mr. Miyagi takes an angry teenage girl under his wing. I've always like these films and it's nice to have them together in this great set. They have good picture and sound plus some neat extras. Get this.
Although I saw all these movies when they first came out it was so much fun to do them all again and then watch Cobra Kai remembering all the little things that happened in the original movies. Great way to spend a Drury cold weekend watched all four movies
