The diet actually works! One day a week works for me. I found myself watching what I ate each day, and even looked forward to my diet day, which consists of nuts, seeds, veggies and fruit (with lots of water). It is sad that Haggard fell as a minister, because many who could be helped by the content of this book will now assume (wrongly) that his diet concept is no good. David baysidebc@yahoo.com
The title caught my attention and it seemed like a more sensible approach to eating. Most diets are over whelming when you think about them and impossible to keep within their guidelines. Mr. Haggard's approach made sense. Anyone can stick with something for a day. If you do fall off the wagon of eating well; he makes it so easy to climb back aboard without all the guilt. It's easy to follow and most important it is to do. With the simplicity of it there are no more excuses.
Wow - was this guy on a power trip or what? Maintaining a healthy weight is a lifestyle not a one day a week endeavor. Kind of like living a spiritual life vs. just goiing to church on Sunday. Apparently Ted thought you could do lots of things "one day a week"... Please don't buy this book. Some of the proceeds go to gay prostitutes and meth labs. Thanks Ted!
I purchased the book as I was curious because of talk in the office. The owner of my company and her husband were trying the diet as they saw it, but there wasn't much information available without the book. Unfortunately, the book doesn't give much hard information either. I watched two people try the diet "by the book" without success. Just another fad diet? I think so.
