The transaction was just fine but the book was some what of a disappointment. It's a large size book of nice quality with a total of just 32 pages. 15 of those are color, full page size posters printed on one side only so they could be framed without losing any of the written material or other pictures. The remainder of the book covers his history.I thought that the illustrations would deal more with fashion but there were very few of those. Most of them focused on holidays, kids and family. His illustrations are remarkable, I was just wishing had a different focus.
In the limited amount of pages, the reader may feel they aren't getting much of a value for their investment..After opening the very first page, that opinion quickly changes and we are swept back to a magical time in history when this amazing illustrator was making his impression on the world. Each page is packed with wonderful information and impressive images of this wonderful mans life and his works. It is a must have for any art lover and even more so for a Leyendecker fan.!
This book of artwork by J.C. Leyendecker is breathtaking in its appeal. It's a superb choice for those recently introduced to the artist's work, offering a biography along with broad overview of his work. For collectors, it can prove a springboard to acquiring specific works, either original or poster form, as one's budget dictates.
