First of all I guess I have to mention that I didn't think I would like it because I absolutely dislike Wahlberg's acting 98% of the time, especially after "Truth About Charlie". But WOW!!! was I pleasantly surprised. A really enjoyable flick all the reviews before me go into such details about all of the actors and I have to agree LOVED the Cast selection. Let's face it I have had a "thing" for Jason S. since {The Transporter} and he continues to catch my eye was perfect in his role as {Handsome Rob} Edward Norton definately is consistent with his acting skills, no surprise there. Seth Green was hilarious reminded me of {Rat Race} but none the less thought he was chosen wisely. Ahhh Mos Def as {Left Ear} I must say that I look forward to more roles for this versatile entertainer and Mark Wahlberg wasn't as bad as he was in {The Truth about Charlie} but he still is pretty stiff. Music soundtrack was GREAT!! The opening Boat chase scene in Venice was EXCELLENT. All those Car chase scenes with the mini coopers were cool and edgy. Storyline kept me engaged, interested and there were a few funny moments. I would recommend that you purchase this one if you like movies with Car Chases or re-makes. Pretty good action movie about a group of six thieves who pull off a gold heist in Venice, Italy. In dramatic style they steal the contents of a safe, approximately $35,000,000, in gold bars. The crooks get away clean, but one of them (Edward Norton)is ambitious and steals the gold from the others. In the process, the older and senior member of the group, John Bridger (Donald Sutherland) is murdered. Two years later, the group tracked down the gold and their old friend, and set about to steal the gold back. Using Bridger's daughter as their safecracker, they devise a plan to electronically synchronize the traffic lights and guide an armored car carrying the gold to a predetermined place. The gold is recovered and in several little cars they speed off through the storm sewers in a great chase scene. Their old associate (Norton) had been selling gold bars two or three at a time, and one day killed his buyer because he got a little too curious. Now, his Russian Mafia relatives have him. This was a pretty good movie.Read full review

This movie is just flat out FUN movie to watch over and over again. It is an update to "The Italian Job" made in the 60's (???) with Michael Caine, but this version is so stylish, so hip, and so well done. The only cast members to reappear are the Mini Coopers ~ and boy, are they slick! All of the stars did their own driving, and you can tell they are having a ball through the twists and turns of the chase scene and through the intelligent twists and turns of the plot. This is NOT your ordinary heist film! And if Seth's rendition of conversation between Handsome Rob and Becky doesn't stay with you after the movie, you're not paying attention to his on-screen ad-libbing! Utterly engrossing and enjoyable. Highly recommended. PS: John Powell's music score from the movie is a must-have, also! PPSS: Trivia fans will note the original "Italian Job" with Michael Caine playing on a background tv when Mark Wahlberg goes to visit Charlize Theron!! Victoria EntRead full review
