I cant believe how good this series is. If you are a sci-fi fan or interested in the Alien genre, then this series is for you. From the late 60's it deals with very advanced issues and is set with great story telling. You will be surprised that the series has been made so well and very interesting dramatic content. If you are involved in the spiritual community or aware of the ascension process then hearing what the Dark has been doing will shed a lot of Light. Peace.
I've been living my childhood out through this amazing series!!! This 2 season series has Roy Thinnes introducing episodes as an option! He was amazing as architect David Vincent waging a one man war against the aliens. As a young boy of 9-10 yrs. old the intensity of this show scared the crap out of me. You never knew who the aliens were & the action was non-stop. In those days they didn't have the special effects as now but that doesn't make this series any less palatable. The acting carried it well. Seeing major actors such as Jack Lord & Roddy McDowell as well as the great character actors of the time, Alfred Ryder, William Windom & Mark Richman to name a few make this very believable!! I highly recommend this to anyone either 1st time or to relive this incredible series!
An excellent sci-fi series from the 60's, intriguing and gripping. The acting was usually above average, but Roy Thinnes was excellent - the way he shows his frustration when explaining the aliens is very good. The Invaders is very much a period piece, and reflects the public concerns of the time. The Invaders draws influence both from America's first missions into space which made ordinary people think about the possibility of contact with life from other planets, and also from the paranoia of 'Reds under the Beds' brought on at the height of the Cold War. A series you will enjoy.
I purchased this box-set as a small way of opening a window to my childhood. I grew up in the 60's, when there was a mass of iconic tv shows and sitcoms hitting television, that today are now considered classics. This is one of those classics. I have just finished watching season one and just now starting season two. I would highly recccommend this series to anyone's collection. They don't come any better than this classic. I feel sorry for kids growing up today with the crap that is on TV today. As I turn 50 shortly, I feel very lucky to have grown up with these classic sitcoms. Season one has too may guest star appearences of past and future TV and movie stars to even begin to mention the names. Some of the episodes you cannot figure out who's on David Vicent's side till the late minute. ENJOY!!Read full review
I haven't seen any of these episode since I was a child in the 60s. I must say this show has stood the test of time! It is still as good as I remember, the special effects were great for the time, It would be interesting to see this show with today's special FX! I love the special features on this DVD package, Roy Thinnes introduces each episode, that is such a nice touch, to see him again after 48 years.
