This book has a little writing, most of the information is shown with pictures that are large enough to see the details on. And there is a slight comment in each area next to the weapons describing their history. It has the book divided by timetable, BUT I'm disappointed that many of the ancient weapons , previous to the Assyrian 'world power' eras are not displayed, I've found more in historical research of ancient times and people. Many of the weapons have a consistent standard of style, but I was looking for more history, so that is why I was disappointed.
