    Unexpected, yet entertaining.

    I offer very few opinions because one's likes, or dislikes, may be very different from the next person's. House of Cards is not what I expected; I enjoyed trilogy just the same. Was entertaining for those who enjoy this type genre.

    Man, this dude is EVIL!!!

    Ian Richardson, of the Grey Poupon commercials, tops even that performance with this one as an utterly ruthless, backstabbing British politician. Although twenty years have passed since this series was produced, it is the timeless characters that make this series worth watching. I saw it a decade or more ago and I still remembered some of Francis Urquhart's ("F. U.", evidently an intentional joke by the writer) coldblooded and sneering dialogue. If you buy this, you will likely find yourself watching it again every few years...until they stop making DVD players, at least.

    Diabolically evil -- and delicious.

    I'll admit: I watched the American version of this mini-series first (the first couple of seasons), and then I ordered the British version so that I could see the "source material." Although the British version is slightly dated (having come out about 25 years ago), it holds up well and is equally compelling. In fact, I might say it is even more captivating due to its main character being diabolically evil. Any person interested in political dramas--and the evil that can accompany politics--will enjoy this mini-series.
