I've read the first seventy six Hardy Boys books and this was a great comeback after a slower paced "Tower Treasure" mystery. There is much more action in this book as they attempted to track down a gang of smugglers. The first version (1927) has the same basic plot and it is not worth reading both of them. However, The House On The Point, written by Benjamin Hoff, was good and was a tribute to Franklin W. Dixon and the Hardy Boys. He rewrote the House on the Cliff to what he thought was a good story.
I love this series.

I bought these books for my four grandsons who love to read. My daughter-in-law wanted them to read some of the "classics" and hopefully they will love them.
