I read these books when they came out in 1979. These were the first defining works that dealt with the some of the original Star Wars characters, taking place prior to the original movie trilogy. I mean who did not want to know how Han Solo started as a wise cracking smuggler pilot and how he met Chewbacca. The first book starts with Han and Chewie operating in the Corporate Sector, helping out in the effort to discover what happened to a guy named Doc and other enemies of the Corporate Sector Authority, the capitalistic and authoritarian organization that oversees the Corporate Sector. As part of this effort, Han and Chewbacca meet two droids, Bollux and Blue Max, who become part of his crew for a time. Book Two starts off with Han Solo and Chewbacca accepting a job offer from an anonymous employer. However, after flying the Millennium Falcon to the planet Lur for the pickup, they discover that the cargo they're meant to be shipping is a load of slaves - something neither Han nor Chewbacca has any tolerance for. In Book Three, while taking a well-earned break on the planet Rudrig in the Tion Hegemony, Han Solo and Chewbacca are approached by Badure, an old friend, and his female companion Hasti. Badure has a lead on the fabled Queen of Ranroon, the treasure ship of Xim the Despot, which has been believed lost for centuries. These books were awesome "SOLO", but are even better collected, as now you don't have to wait for the next one to come out. If you are a diehard fan or just want to see how some of the saga characters began, I would recommend this book to anyone.Read full review

Han Solo Adventures is a good collection of three stories that were written long before there was really much else for an author to go on when playing in another's universe. Each story is a fairly short read so you can space them out or read them back to back. I'd highly recomend this book.
