I am probably the only person in the world who did not find this film thrilling. The Alaskan scenery was beautiful, and Liam Neeson delivered an excellent performance. But, let's face it, a major reason for viewing a wilderness survival film is to see who lives and who dies. When seven men survive a plane crash, and one is Liam Neeson and the others are little-known actors who are bundled in heavy coats, all looking and behaving in similar fashion, it's easy to guess which men are cannon fodder...or, in this case, wolf food. The wolf attacks are very graphic, but after awhile the horror pales in comparison with the predictability of seeing the men picked off one by one. Toward the end of the film, with three men standing, one guy gets tired of walking and tells the others to leave him behind. His reason? What he has just experienced in the wilderness was so exciting and awesome that he can't bear to return to his mundane job. Really? Working beside a bunch of other men isn't nearly as much fun as watching them get slaughtered? If you agree, you'll like THE GREY. I just found it bloody and depressing.Read full review
