About this product

Product Information

James Stewart gives a warm performance as the legendary band leader who met an untimely end in a World War II airplane crash. Though much of Miller's story has been sentimentalized here, the great Big Band music is really what it's all about. Includes performances of "Little Brown Jug," "Moonlight Serenade," "Pennsylvania 6-5000," "In the Mood," and many more. Academy Award Nominations: 3, including Best Story and Screenplay; Best Scoring of a Musical Picture.

  • The Glenn MIller Story

I bought it because Glenn Miller is my favorite big band artist I could not find it anywhere else. Also James Stuart is one of my favorite actors. As a former Marine during Veit Nam I have respect anyone who puts their life on the line for those who are in the Service and Glenn Miller did that. The Army Air Corps during WW2 has always facinated me Yes and The Womens Army Air Corps.

  • The Glenn Miller Stroy

We have always loved this movie. It is a wonderful story about a great band leader. Love it and was happy to find it on VHS at a very reasonable price.

  • the glenn miller story

if you like big bandmusic and a cute love story, this is it. Good example of WWII music and American "keep trying attitude".
