my all-time favorite TV series. it's as moving as it was in the 1960s and again in the early 1990s. i don't think anything will ever match The Fugitive in terms of authentic emotion. david janssen's facial expressions alone often moved me to tears, and i have a feeling i'm not the only viewer who could identify with his character's pain, desper-ation, and sense of dislocation. barry morse, a marvelous actor, did a wonderful job as the doctor's dogged pusuer, and bill raisch was properly vile as the one-armed man. many of the most popular actors in the 60s guest-starred and it is fun to see them again also. this is my third run through the series and i am still emotionally invested in The Doctor's plight. i thought i'd never see The Fugitive again, but thanks to these excellent discs, i will be able to. thank you.Read full review

As a child, I can remember watching this series with my parents on an old Philco, b/w television with rabbit ears and tin foil (state of the art at that time). I can remember how unfair I felt that Richard Kimball was innocent and always on the run. How he always had to leave that town at the end of the episode. This series has now been made available and its like 1963 all over again. Remember, this series came out before the Kennedy assination, Vietnam, and the civil rights movement. Watching this series is like watching living history. From the old cars, to the clothes, to the mannerisms of daily life, this series is without peers. It is the best of the best!!! Watching it on a 50" plasma tv thru an upconvert HD dvd player is a far cry from 1963. Even if you never saw this series 45 years ago, buy it today and forget the waste and re-runs that are on tv today. This is a piece of Americana that shows what made this country great. Too bad today's tv shows fail in comparison to The Fugitive.Read full review
My Mom loved this series when it was on TV way back when. I had to check it out and I'm glad I did. It's a very good series and the individual episodes are very entertaining. I have ordered volume 2 already. There's also lots of very familiar, young, faces popping up as guest stars.

One of my favorite shows of all times, I thought of searching for DVDs of it after collecting all that has been [officially!] released of The Untouchables and Route 66 (two more oldies but goodies). Well no disappointment when the DVDs arrived as they did a wonderful job of restoring the series to better than I have ever seen, or heard it, in the past. Though I watched The Fugitive when it originally aired, I was just a kid then and didn't see all of the episodes. Later on in life it was repeated on cable but I only caught a few episodes. Though we have satellite now, I never searched for the show though it could be on a channel somewhere. And that's the beauty of it as even the episodes that I can remember I can only remember very slightly so it's still pretty much like watching it again for the first time. Also, read on the box that the music is new on the DVDs. While that may be a problem for a purist (and one having a great memory) it sounds just fine to me like it was originally made for the series and actually has much better audio quality of course since they are modern recordings. Great series!!!Read full review
I really like this series. Even as a young man, this series really gripped my attention. David Janssen is in my opinion, a Hall Of Fame actor who is very convincing as Dr. Richard Kimball. Also the role of Inspector Gerard: Barry Morse, is also great. I am curently waiting to see if there will be a season 2 of this series released, I certainly will purchase it!
