This is one of my favorite Firms. It has great music and the exercises are alot of fun. Its a workout I look forward to. It uses the Firm Transfirmer which is a step that can be used at 6 or 8 inches for aerobics or 14 inches for the Firm leg press which really is a wonderful exercise. But work up to the 14 inches because it can be hard on the knees if you aren't used to it. Start off with the 8 inches and then work up to it. This step also can be used at an incline. Now this is such a genious part of it. I love it! Now, lunging doesn't hurt my knees! And you can even do leg pressess on the incline. And doing step on the incline totally zero's in the glute hamstring area and off the knee/quad area. This workout alternates muscle toning with step and floor aerobics. Christa is a great Firm instructor. There is alot of lower body work like squats,dips off the step, lunges onto the Transfirmer and leg press. There is also quite a bit of upper body work too. The workout finishes with abs and a great stretch. The only thing I don't like is that the DVD isn't chaptered. But the good outweigh the things I don't like.Read full review
The firm is an awesome workout! Make sure you get the videos that come with the steps also known as the fanny lifter. There are a lot of old workout videos called the Firm that are not meant to be used with the steps and they do not give the same results. They are not easy videos if you are just starting, but you don't use weights at first and just do what you can do. These videos are amazing for your butt! You will see it lifting and transforming within 2 weeks. It is amazing. It is also great for the legs and thighs. Way better than going to the gym!
I discovered this item on ebay while looking for aerobic steps. It comes with The Firm Box. I've been using other videos and didnt have much problem getting through them, but this one I was only able to do the first 15 minutes and felt more worked out and worked up more of a sweat then with the others. The footing was a little tricky at a few points, but I just did what I could and tried my best to follow them. I'm sure after a few times I will have it down. I love the fact they have one of the people in the video showing the beginner moves without weights, while the others show the more advanced moves with weights. So it helps people new to exercise get used to the steps. I was able to do most of the more advanced moves and I used weights whenever they did the first time I used it, but I have been using some other exercise vidoes so I'm a little used to some of the moves.Read full review
I like the variation in routines and the fact that I really can feel the workout. I thought the mic on the instructor was turned down too low. Sometimes it is hard to hear what she's saying over the music. I tried to find the Box online but couldn't locate it on The Firm's web site. That means I have to be creative with the equipment I have in order to achieve the same incline for the workouts. I decided to buy it because they guarantee results in just 10 workouts.
