This is a great movie. If you liked "Traffic" or "Short Cuts" or "the Conversation," you will like this one. I caught it on cable and then bought a copy. It is hard to understand at first, but then I understood. The end was foreshadowed. Other comments: The symbolism is terrific, the highway exchange, the telescope. The role Andie MacDowell plays is unusual and unexpected. She is a terrific actress. It's similar to "The Conversation," but it has other subplots, which fit LA. Bill Pullman is an under-appreciated actor. As for Gabriel Byrne, I started watching the film because it listed him, and he chooses his parts pretty well, so I wanted to see what he was in. I also "discovered" "Ride with the Devil" this way. The film is not everyone's taste; my husband wouldn't like it--but I think it is terrific.Read full review
