I love horror movies and nuclear war movies especially. I heard that The Divide was very disturbing but thought it was just hype. What could be worse than Threads or The Day After. Well The Divide definitely lived up to it's billing. I was disappointed with the nuclear attack scene, it was short and unrealistic. The movie starts off slow, but around halfway through, it starts to get crazy. It's not really fair to compare it with any other nuclear war movie I've seen, The Divide is more of a movie about human behavior. It is very graphic, there are a couple scenes in it that took me a couple days to get out of my head. It didn't get very good reviews, but I would give it 4 out of 5 stars. The unrealistic attack scene and slow beginning costs it a star in my opinion

I was really surprised how good this movie turned out to be. The premise of a group of strangers locked in a basement trying to survive a nuclear apocalypse is an old one but this one takes on some new twists. As the days go on the members of the group who had the most vulgar or degenerate natures become more so, those who are weak become weaker and those who are level headed remain so but the question remains to what end. What's the purpose of attempting to survive the unsurvivable? The one character smart enough to outwit the others in the game of last man standing finds out exactly what it means be the last man standing.
good plot line

Not bad

It's a little slow start and they could have went into more detail on the attack/military invasion. But the movie was from the common bystanders point of view. They had no clue till the bombs were dropping. Liked it.
