W.A.S.P., what can you say about them? Blackie is awesome, but if you have heard two songs you have heard all of his songs. Not saying that as a bad thing, I love W.A.S.P., you just don't get a lot of variety in the music. This CD isn't the best, in fact it doesn't even begin to compare with W.A.S.P., The Last Command or Inside The Electric Circus, but it's also not a bad CD at all. Several stand out tracks here, one of the best, in my opinion, is Hold On To My Heart, a great ballad. The Great Misconceptions of me is also another good song where Blackie kind of goes for the rock opera genre. So basically, if this is going to be your first W.A.S.P. album, don't get it, buy the self titled debut or The Last Command or Inside The Electric Circus instead, but if you are a W.A.S.P. fan then by all means, get the album.Read full review
this is wasp's first attempts at a metal horror opera.long before jesse slane appeared.this album is unbelievable.it includes such songs as chainsaw charli and murders in the rue morgue.the overall tone of this work is one continuous story through all 14 songs.blackie had the help of the great guitarist chris holmes and this is a very metal album.the best song may be the idol.the crimson idol is the story of this epic so i wont ruin it.this is the album that inspires blackie lawless to create jesse slane , and the neon god years later.thi is a must have album if you love metal.enjoy.
