I am an artist. I did some paintings of the four classic "Universal Movie Monsters"; Dracula, Frankenstein, the Wolf-Man, and the Creature from the black Lagoon. Later I reprinted all four images on one Giclee art Print. I am a "Low-Brow Artist" and my work is "cartoony" and fun. It's called Pop-surrealism, as it's Realistically painted, but with un-real subjects. "Pop"-surrealism because instead of referencing classical literature, or the bible, it references POP-culture. Stuff I grew up with like Comic Books, Saturday morning Cartoons, and Friday Night Monster Movies on TV - Especially the Classic 1930's and 40's Universal Monster films! I gave this Four Monsters in one giclee / Art Print to my 13 year old god son. He loved it. However, while he could name Dracula, Frankenstein, and the Wolf-Man, …when it came to "the Creature" he stumbled, and said weakly… " Ah, the swamp monster?" SWAMP MONSTER ? I asked. Oh, I think I know what I need to give you next - hence this DVD box set is going to bring one 13 year old boy fully up on which Universal Monster is Which! THANKS! Read full review

The Legacy Collection is a wonderful compliation of the following: CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON 1954 is one of the better creature-feature from the early to mid-50's, with Richard Carlson & Julie Adams which takes place in an isolated upper Amazon tributary. Look for the way the local archaeologist extracts a piece of Gill-man fossil for study. Won't work in present-day in-situ digs. REVENGE OF THE CREATURE 1955 again takes place in the Amazon, then in Florida, finally back to the Atlantic Ocean, with John Agar & Lori Nelson. After about 15 minutes, be looking for cameo scenes of Clint Eastwood (first casting role, unbilled), in a lab with lab coat, having a humorous discussion about lab mice with John Agar (Eastwood looks just like he walked off RAWHIDE as Rawdy Yates). THE CREATURE WALKS AMONG US 1956 takes place in Florida with Jeff Morrow, Rex Reason & Leigh Snowden. Great commentaries & back-ground information given by David Skal, Tom weaver, Lori Nelson & Bob Burns, with a special documentary BACK TO THE BLACK LAGOON. As with all 50's & early-60's, there is the manditory love interest that captivates 25-50% of the movies. You won't be disappointed. Enjoy!!Read full review
This is a great set of DVDs about my favorite of the classic Universal monsters. The behind the scenes pictures are very informative and entertaining. I can do without the optional expert commentary track, I turned it on and after a few minutes turned it off. The video quality is excellent. I highly recommend this set if you like quality science fiction/ horror movies with an actual story not just gallons of fake blood, CGI, dubbed in screaming and stupid people.

This was one scary movie for me when I was a kid and over the years I had seen the 1st film loads of times and loved it. The 2nd and 3rd films, I had never seen as they are rarely if ever shown on UK tv and the DVD was unavailable in this country. I decided that it was worth buying a region 1 DVD and using my PC to play it. I was right as the films are excellent and very nostalgic for me. The overall package has extras ( commentary, stills, trailers etc.) which make this well worth the money. No downside for me. 10/10
This collection takes you through the entire Creature series, from "Creature from the Black lagoon",to "The Creature walks among us". The best full body monster suit ever, great underwater filmaking for the time. Not being able to see the human actor under the makeup makes him more believable as "THE GILLMAN". Always one of my favorite Sunday afternoon"CREATURE FEATURES".Wolfman,Frankenstein's creature,Dracula,Phantom,The Hunchback,Invisible man,and The Creature from the Black lagoon! All CLASSICS well represented in these Legacy collections!!
