The Counsel of Heaven on Earth is a well-written and Biblically grounded look at the basics of Christian counseling. Jones' Scriptural usage is superb. He employs both Scriptural commands as well as narratives to demonstrate his main points. His approach seems well-founded and is a challenge to a higher level of Christian counseling. The book is a reasonable length and well-structured. It is not a long read. My one critique of the book is that it lacked as many real-life examples as I would like. In most counseling books, the author uses a real-life account (or a composite), with names and often certain details changed, but that adds a practical flavor to the concepts. This book is more focused on the theoretical side, although again, I do feel it is a well-grounded approach.
Biblical Christian counseling text accurately portrays how the counselor can follow Gods example as a theoretical method of counseling.
