Allow me to begin with the statement that I consider it an honor to own a copy of this well made classic film. It is so well paced, laid out, filmed and entertaining that it is a shame not to view it. The two lead actors- Robert Walker, and actress Judy Garland- make this film so much their own and natural that you would swear they were a couple in real life! They were not, of course, but together they make this one of the best relationship movies of all time. If you think not, obtain and view a copy for yourself. Not only will you NOT be disappointed, but you will enjoy the film as thoroughly as I have. Set in World War II, the earnest and willing relationship between these two really nice characters will, indeed, endear itself to you, too... Steve Berner/berner712
Another fantastic movie starring Judy Garland and Robert Walker. Nice to see Judy in a dramatic role. Well worth a watch.

Memorable film starring Judy Garland, Robert Walker, who turn in surprisingly strong performances. It would have been nice if Garland had turned in more dramatic work for MGM. She was just coming into her own as an actress and displays a lot of dramatic potential. Walker turns in a believable boy next door performance. Strong scripting helped MGM maintain its rank over other studies throughout the 1940s. Beautiful theme music will catch viewers' attenton early on.
Another great film which I wanted in my collection

One of my favorite movies from the Golden Era, also depicting the romance between arriving and departing soldiers during World War II. Judy Garland gives a memorable non-musical performance and Robert Walker excels in probably his best role of a tragic short career. If you enjoy emotional and sincere movies, try this gem from 1945.
