This book is dated 1996 but even 11 years later this book is a great source of information for your daughter. My daughter was having problems missing a friend who travels and is gone from home alot. She always wondered if another friend would ever take her place. She read the tips that this book gave her and she felt so much better knowing that no one would ever replace her as a friend. This book is recommended for children and preteens. I would say ages 7-14 according to maturity level. I give this book two thumbs up!
I only read a few lines of the book, however, my thoughts were to provide tools (book) to help my young granddaughter. I trust the Pleasant Company concepts. I have read many other books that are based on the American Girl excellent reputation. Even at 9 years old she is experiencing Peer Pressure with friends, emotional roller coaster events and just trying to understand what to do in situations. Anything we can offer to help along with parental counsel is an asset. This will help to prepare them with "Life's Little Challenges!"
It’s great for kids but also applies to adults. A good book to read together.

Was a little disappointed they were written in. But they are used so I guess that was a possibility.

Well written book about all the nuances of friendship. It covers the high, the lows and everything in between. It has small sections to keep young ladies interested. Thoughtfully written; HIGHLY recommended.
