I've seen this book before and tried it out once or twice before setteling into it with a real feeling of commitment. I started in July 08 and as of October 08 have lost 25#! My doctor is happy and so am I! Nothing is off limits - eat chocolate, pizza, spaghetti, bread, casseroles..whatever you desire, even fast food. I don't feel hungry between meals, have few urges to "cheat". And it's so easy - no measuring, no special foods, no deprivation! Eat a big salad with low carb dressing and some protein 3 times a day and some protein (no carbs!)at 2 meals, and whatever you want at the third! But get the book to see all the details and find out how easy it is to lose weight this way and to make the necessary changes for a healthy lifestyle!
I bought this book because weight watchers was leaving me hungry all the time and my sister had read this book and lost alot of weight. I took the test in chapter 3 and discovered I am a carbohydrate addict. The diet plan is helping me to drop the pounds and not be starving all the time. I feel better than I have in years. I like the fact that this book tells me what to do next if the pounds aren't coming off. It tells you how to adjust week to week depending on your own individual results. Easiest thing I've ever done! I love this book and would recomment it to any one that had sugar diabetes problems too. I don't, but told a friend about this diet and she is lovin it and has her sugar in control. I'd recommend going to the library and checking it out and take the test to see if you are a candidate. This is the only diet I've ever been able to stay on for more than one day! You eat a low-carb breakfast and lunch, then you are rewarded with a full meal for dinner, including dessert. You can have breakfast or lunch as your reward meal, but for most of us, the evening meal is the preferred one, as we want to eat with our families or go out with friends, etc. I lost about eight pounds in a couple of weeks but got sidetracked by the holiday season. Now I'm starting over but not quite back at the same weight. If you don't cheat, you CAN lose it. You may hit a plateau but just keep on it. It'll get easier as you lose your craving for carbs.
