This book really needs very little introduction. It is one of the "two crowning glories of the English language" and parts of it are still widely used in various denominations for their services. It's written in somewhat archaic style, but no literate American who has recourse and the desire to occasionally use a dictionary will find it too difficult. The theological expression is matchless, thoroughly orthodox, and the prose that Cranmer, it's original author used is timeless, moving and, in the day of brevity and third grade English...a monument to what our Faith can produce, and our language can identify. It is a great tragedy that the American Episcopal Church has abandoned the use of it, in favor of modern language liturgical pablum.
The volume was just what the doctor ordered, and was in perfect condition upon arrival...
