In the reformed or protestant spirit of believing the Holy Bible should be in one's own language or even dialect (the originals millennia ago were of common language not strange) I had turned to NIV, ESV, and other modern English versions only to find,aside from any man or women's opinion, I myself was time and time again finding problems right in the texts taking away more than it was giving, way beyond a mere "improved accuracy" (there were arbitrary differences forced by copywrite law between versions, writers, and publishers and all kinds of messes). Double meanings disappearing into blunt, one-dimensional statements was one issue for me no one even mentions. The only one I kept reading because of difficulties with KJV was NLT because at least it was honest in the preface about paraphrasing with risk, almost like a verse by verse bible story. Lo and behond, if you simply remove all the weird formatting from KJV, from verse numbers to breaks to italics and notations... suddenly the old dialect is a fraction of an issue for me as I thought! This bible is KJV but laid out like a novel. If I want to note a verse number, it takes me about a minute to find it in a regular KJV. Otherwise I'm now reading KJV (in THIS book "The Bible Designed to be Read as Living Literature") as though I'm sailing through bible story or NLT, yet all double meanings and "bible code" are untainted and still in place!! Based on the description I was expecting the King James Bible to be composed in its entirety in a literature type format (no chapter and verse headings). But the authors took out sections and changed the way the text is supposed to read. The Bible is beautifully written without changing anything about it. I didn't see why the "editors" had to change anything but putting it in chronological order and taking away the chapter headings and verse separations. I would not recommend.
