I remember pre-ordering the LP a lifetime ago. This album has always brought a smile to my face. Over the years I've had to replace it a few times . Always money well spent. I love that while I write this I can hear it playing I'm my head.

It's fine considering the price they offered. But I would not describe the product "just like new". Besides, there's a skip on the track(sun king). But I don't complain because it served my purpose. Sound quality told me to buy the whole box set which I did!

The second side of Abbey Road is my favorite side of any album. I am a Beatles fan of huge proportions, they are my favorite group of all time and have been for a loooong time. The way they did the second side as a medley where the songs flow into each other with their different beats and pace is really slick with great drum solos by Ringo, great guitar work by John, Paul, and George and the wonderful vocals by all of them is a real joy to listen to. Who else could name a song called "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" and have it sound so neat with the sound of a hammer clanging. And one of the biggest surprises is the song "Something"- the great love ballad written by not Lennon-McCartney as so many were but by George and it's a classic to this day. I can't say enough about this album- it has the performing and writing talents of The Beatles and shows off the tremendous direction of George Martin - their wizard in the recording studio- the 'genius behind the best act in rock.' Listen to it and Love It ! ! The Beatles talents will be a cultural force for decades to come.Read full review
Sitting in my sofa, listening to this from the first to the last song without stopping, I could just get to one conclusion: The Beatles ARE the greatest band ever. It's awesomely good at first listen, but grows even better with repeated listens and never grows old. Music like this needs to be remembered forever. I just couldn't pick a favorite; the whole album feels as if it was a single track, especially the side-two medley. Each song is a gem by itself, but they all come together here to make Something even greater, the last Beatles album, and to mark the end of their 6-and-a-half year recording period (since this was the last Beatles album recorded). Guess Paul, John, George, and Ringo already carried that weight a long time, and that Paul finally got the money he wanted to be given. *****+Read full review
This has always been one of my favorite albums. Recording is good quality but on my system the sound stage is a bit compressed. If creating a good sound stage is not important to you this version of the album will be a good choice.
