I had been in search of this movie for some time and was not able to find it anywhere locally. The film is about the protagonist who may or may not have lost his mind in his attempt to seclude himself to develop his talent as a writer and instead is distracted and befriended by an ape who possesses a satirical and wry sense of humor. What I like about this movie is that it is an extension and exploration of the actor's creative imagination and ability to work in a different direction than just in front of the camera. The writer and director is James Franco who has played James Dean and worked with Robert DeNiro on "City By The Sea". He is one of the original cast members of the television program "Freaks And Geeks" in which just about everyone who worked on that project has moved up in the world of television and film, most notably the cast and crew members of such films as The 40 Year Old Virgin, Anchorman, Knocked Up, and most recently Forgetting Sarah Marshall. This movie was suppousively intended to be dramatic. If you graded the movie on a dramatic scale I'd say it'd be about a 2, however I found it so bad and that it had such a bad plot I found it to be quite funny. You may not agree with me on the comedy part and thats way I don't reccomend buying this one. It's basically lame and doesn't deserve anyone's investment. Thanks For Reading, And I Hope I Helped, Justin
