Amazing group and concert place only! I'm disappointed with gods awful sound recording, flat rattle can sound, the same for both DD and DTS selection. This group deserves best recording and instead got mediocre one, never again I'll spend money on lousy DVD recordings. Not recommended, Look for Blu Ray recordings instead!

This is a 2 disc DVD of the bands 3 night annual show at the Beacon Theatre in 2003. This is the current band lineup, with Derek Trucks and Warren Haynes on guitars. The band was also complimented by a 4-piece horn section during the concerts. It was great seeing the Allman Brothers Band in a smaller venue. I was impressed with the song list, a set of 23 songs (including the encore on disc 2), and nearly 3 hours of music on disc one. The song selection was also very interesting, with a mixture of older tunes and tunes from "Hittin The Note" (Desdemona- wonderful D. Trucks lead- & High Cost Of Low Living- tremendous interplay between the guitarists) among others). The guitar interplay between Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks was phenomenal. They compliment each other so well and respect each other so much. Greg Allman was a little off at times (Whipping Post), but Haynes's band leadership was obvious and he would pick Allman up with his vocals. The rhythm section was very impressive with the percussionist complimenting Jaimo and Butch Trucks so well. At times it seemed as if Jaimo was in a cruise mode. The camera work was good and the shows were a sharing of all of the band members, but the video was well edited to synchronize with the guitar leads and changes of soloists. I sat through the whole 22 song disc one set without getting up. WOW!!!!!Read full review
This dvd will instantly go to the top of your collection. I buy anything from the Allman Bros. I can honestly say that Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks steal the show. Close your eyes and you might think you're listening to Duane Allman(RIP) and Dickey Betts. Very impressive! Trucks has no personality, but can play the slide like nobody's business. Haynes can slide as well as lead and sing very well. Butch Trucks solidly headlines a 3 drummer attack and doesn't miss a beat. Sadly, he ended his life earlier this year. So tragic(RIP Butch). The band is tight and the audio and video are solid for a 90's concert dvd. Buy it now!

I enjoy this DVD so much that i ordered a 2nd one to send to a family member. I watch mine often and feel that this particular 2003 show is the best DVD to purchase from the band. I highly recommend this Beacon Theater DVD, Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks on guitars are just awesome!
