It's a must read for the AK enthusiast. There is a lot of history behind the Kalashnikov, more so than any other small arm in the world. This is an excellent primer for those whom want to identify and gain knowledge about the rifle that rules the world today. One of the best conceived and simplistic battlefield rifle ever created. I had this book for a couple of years, and read it three or four times. I got into a forum that had a secret Santa thread, and sent my copy of this book on to a fellow member as a gift along with other items. The thing is, I just had to have another copy for my library, so less than a year later after giving away my copy, I got another one. It's a short and brief book, but it covers a lot. There are volumes of excellent info on the AK and it's clones out there, but this book puts quite a bit of that information into a short and sweet source. It's less costly than the larger volumes that go into more detail, but it gives you the basics and a bit more. Suggested for the new AK owner, or the small arms history buff.Read full review
