Jodi Thomas has been called "The Queen of Texas Romance" and in this second book of her Whispering Mountain trilogy, she will take you on another journey of lost trust and passion found. The story centers around Tobin McMurray, who at age 25, never wants more than to breed horses. He doesn't want a family because if something happened to him he wouldn't want them to fend for themselves. Then along comes Liberty Mayfield. Tobin has a hard time keeping his distance from her. Libby, as she is called, is a spoiled brat and when Tobin brings a presents of a horse to her, a gift from her father, she has no interest in it, but she does show a lot of interest in Tobin! Problem is, Libby is already engaged to be married to another man who her father, Senator Mayfield, does not trust. The senator cuts a deal with Tobin to kidnap Libby and keep her safe, but Tobin finds that having to spend every minute with Libby is making him long for the life he swore he never wanted. Libby also feels passion for this cowboy but they wonder how they can thwart the forces at work that are trying to keep them apart? Ms. Thomas' 1st book in this trilogy was "Texas Rain" and featured Travis McMurray and Rainey Adams.....both good reads. I am sure the third and last will also have a McMurray man as the lead.Read full review
