This is like a jukebox and it works out well with all of my other vintage stereo equipment. I would recommend this product to everyone who has a lot of CDS.

Although it works, it is not known for how long. The original belt had a square profile, and was a charcoal gray rubber material. It hadn't broken, but just stretched enough to slip. This appears to be a simple o-ring from the plumbing department of the local hardware/home center. It has a round cross section, and is black. Just happens to stretch enough to span pulleys and the snap back in the grooves tight enough to make player work again.

I have owned Technics SL-MCxx mega-changers for 15-20 years and I love them. I currently have three in my system. The remote control is universal for all the SL-MCxx series. If you have a good remote it should work with any model. The most common reason for these changers to fail is a very small drive belt on the mechanism that scans the discs. You'll get either an endless "Checking discs" or an "Error" message. The replacement belt is no longer available from Technics/Panasonic. I was able to substitute an O-ring with the following specs: 19.8 mm inner diameter x 24.6 mm outer diameter x 2.4 mm cross-section. I stretched and twisted the ring for about a minute to limber it up before installing. The unit works flawlessly. I got the O-ring from a Harbor Freight 397 piece set (Item # 67580) which had 14 of that particular size (#116 in the set). I picked up the O-ring set for about $7.50 after a Harbor Freight coupon. I got the metric set because it has a smaller increment between ring sizes. Go here for a clear picture of the belt: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r27205064-Technics-CD-ChangerRead full review
This belt replacement fit perfect in my technics cd changer SL-MC 7 ..before getting this belt my cd changer wasnt moving inside...it kept on giving the searching message, i thought i was going to have to replace the whole unit, but read elsewhere that these cd changers suffer from a bad be,t, so i bought this installed it and its working as new, this belt is a better quality than the one that came with the unjt.. Very happy

The Changer that I received today seems to work as advertised. I have run tests to see to insure that it does work. I will run furthur tests to make sure that all functions work tomorrow as I was out today. It matches up perfectly with the two Technics changers that I alread Have. Thank You Alan Brown
