I can't comment on the recipes included in the book, all submitted contributions from noted Bay Area chefs--I was interested in the old fashioned type of cookbook with submissions by just plain folks, in this case, I had hoped, members and families of San Francisco Symphony players. I played with the orchestra in the 70's and hoped to see familiar names of friends--not an unreasonable expectiation, since the orchestra had sponsored at least one such cookbook in the 60's. This was not at all what I'd hoped for, and had no mention of any orchestra members--it was just a book perhaps sponsored by the Symphony, but not related to the orchestra at all. It's on my pile of Salvation Army donations to go.
