It is made for quick setup and to allow the drum to be able to have more resonance. It is mostly made for floor toms, but could be put directly on any drum that has a drum mounting system that uses a 10.5 mm mounting rod. Tama makes a similar bracket that works with its Star Cast mounting system for mounted tom, but this would work without it although the toms would not resonate as much. One part of this bracket attaches to the drum, and the other stays on the legs of the drum and act as a memory lock.Unless you keep your floor tom level, you need to remember which leg goes in which bracket to maintain the same angle everytime you setup. Also, which I learned the hard way is that if you lose one of the brackets off of the tom leg, you have to buy the whole bracket. As far as I can tell, Tama does not sell the individual parts. For me, it's hart to tell if improves the resonace of the drum because my drum came with the bracket and you can not put the tom legs on without it to be able to listen both ways. It's a nice and unique piece of hardware but if you just want it for a memory lock, there are a lot of less expensive ones out there.Read full review
