Replaced a 16 year old Bosch Aquastar125 with this unit. This is ridiculously compact compared to the Bosch, and outperforms it in delta t, noise level, capacity and inlet filter ease of access. It does require a screwdriver to open if you do maintenance on it vs. Bosch's lift & pull shell. Nice sturdy case. Remote touchpad controller is a very nice feature that can show real time water consumption data. Whisper quiet running.

Have installed several both electric and gas water heaters. Installation was some what easier because 4' double walled pipe is readily available over the 3-5 pipe some take. The first week of operation I had errors and had to call customer support. Make sure its set up properly for temp and gas type. The second week I had errors but the operator showed me how to clear them. I am hoping this not going to be a weekly thing. I would not recommend buying this unless you have a professional that can install it and set it up or you have the experience yourself.

This is the BEST tankless water heater! I love it. I have been using bosch tankless for the past 2 water heaters in my home. This one just seems more SOLID, it is quieter as well as delivery of HOT water to furthest delivery point is SO MUCH FASTER. I am SOLD on Takagi !! This heater provides speedy hot water to a 5 bedroom home,

When you buy this, you'll also have to purchase a pressure relief kit which cost me $94.00. You also have to purchase an outdoor venting kit which cost me $165 for a Z-Flex vent kit at PEX which by far is the cheapest.. Traditional venting through your existing system won't work as this unit generates A LOT more heat. If your vent pipe needs to be more than five feet long, you'll additionally require a condensation kit unless you live in a southern state where it doesn't get too cold. I didn't need it in GA because my pipe run is very short as i installed it on an outside wall. The unit also needs unrestricted airflow so you can't put it in a closed closed. You need a plumber.

Great product, works really well and easy to install. Need other fittings to hard plumb but worth the extra expense
