I bought the DVD Tai Chi on my rheumatogists advice. I needed an extremely gentle form of exercise to practice. What I like about the DVD, it is well produced. It does help you set the tone to do the execises. The instructor is competent, but I spend a lot of time trying to figure out when I am supposed to be breathing in or out, how to transistion from one movement to another. So I've spent a lot of time rewinding and going over it again and again. I still haven't mastered the warm up exercises, but then I fatigue so easily. I am really good at the excercise called hugging the tree. I think the Tai Chi DVD is a good buy. I only wish I was stronger so I could better benefit from it. I would recommend this gentle form of exercise for anyone young or old, some say it is a martial art. I think it is as more of a lovely dance.Read full review
I bought this dvd mainly for the 8 Qigong bonus exercises which are supposed to be good, based on reviews I have read and I was not disappointed. Also, I thought I should get my own Tai Chi dvd and give it a try. The Tai Chi forms are great but the instructions seem to have some errors like instructor mix up between his left and right side or instructor has the incorrect foot forward sometimes during his demo. This is kind a confusing to me and which is especially true for beginners too. I had to do research and comparison to figure out which are the correct forms. I know a little bit of the Tai Chi forms based on the Tai Chi dvd by a different author which I borrowed from our local library, so I was able to compare the forms. In addition I also have a Tai Chi book to help me figure out which is the correct form or forms. Another issue I have with this dvd is the lack of sub menu that will allow user to play the selected form repeatedly and automatically. It does have menus but it combines several forms in the same menu and you have to play the entire menu and use the forward function repeatedly on your player to get to the form you want to view, much like the old Vhs tapes. But like some reviewers, I liked the Qigong exercises which is the main reason I bought this dvd for. Besides, I had a great buy on it for about 10 bucks shipped.Read full review
T'ai Chi has always been something I've wanted to try. However, I've looked at T'ai Chi instructional videos several times and the instructors performed the moves so quickly, I was never able to follow. Not so with this one! This is fantastic and easy to follow. First, you learn about the different hand movements, basically from the waist up. The T'ai Chi instructor goes over each move then shows you how to put them all together. Then, he does the same with foot movements, from the waist down. It's only then that he shows you how to put the hand and foot movements together, which he also does in slow motion and step-by-step. I've used this DVD twice, once today and once yesterday, and today was already easier and less confusing. Give me a week and I might even be ready to do the routine without the DVD! (Probably not, but a girl can hope!) For those looking for a workout, don't be misled by T'ai Chi's slow, easy movements. After 15 minutes, my legs were shaking and I'd broken into a sweat. What I love best is that, by the end of the workout, I feel refreshed, my muscles are stretched and fluid, and my mind is calm. As a business entrepreneur, caretaker for three people and a busy mom with the stress-level to match, these are definitely teachings that I can use throughout my life - for my health and my piece of mind. The only drawback that I can see is that you need to have a little room to move. Ideally, it should be a big enough area to take - at the least - four WIDE steps to each side, and four WIDE steps to the front and back. Otherwise, you might end up feeling cramped and bump into things.Read full review

Great video instruction, easy to follow, I use the AM Tai Chi instruction for beginners every morning before starting my day it allows me to have a Great Day every day. I would suggest that you view the video before jumping right into it makes it alot easier when doing the actual moves. I would highly recommend TAI CHI for Beginners to anyone.
