I'm new to the scene of server hardware and dual CPU motherboards. I was originally going to use this as a secondary streaming PC, as well as a NAS. This worked so well that I sold my 6600K, motherboard, and RAM. Notes for compatibility and usage: I originally installed windows 10 home, but later realized you need either server or professional distros of Windows to utilize more than one CPU package. I noticed that the south bridge gets very hot, so make sure not to touch it. Also, long GPUs like reference cards will not work in the top slot, plan accordingly.

The board is very easy to work on but the dedicated mounting plates for the heatsyncs means that most socket 1366 coolers with non screwdown retention mechanisms won't work. Also the screwdown points don't line up with some of the standoffs in my SSI-eeb case using insulated plastic standoffs fixed this. Also a word of advice if using this board in a tower, replace the stock heatsync on the Northbridge with one with a fan, the current one is not efficient enough and gets really warm.

used to build my first freenas server, performed great, probably too much of an overkill of a file server, pretty easy to setup and get it running. IPMI supposed to be very convenient which i wasn't able to find out how to use yet.

This is my mainboard for my VMWare system and it has never hiccupped..I just wish the IPMI remote access to the system board worked. You cannot even get a license for it any longer.
