My mother decided to attack her laptop for the sweet taste of fruit shaped candy there by earning a broken hard drive. She got my old one and I got to double my storage capacity. I just needed a new hard drive quickly so I only did research about price and size not any speed specifications. The most useful information I can give on this is that I've had it for over six weeks without any problems.
I had a catastrophic failure in an HP, and needed a decent 2.5" EIDE fast. This unit came properly packaged, on schedule, and was an 80 gig Toshiba 4200 RPM unit. The unit is a well reviewed and top of the line HDD for its time, and it loaded my OS rapidly and without any hiccoughs. Data management is excellent, and the Everest indicates the unit is faster than the original 40 gig POS that the HP came with. I'm writing this review with my little HP Compaq right now.
Works very well, Windows reports that it was healthy, seems very fast for a light weight. Linux runs smooth on it. A very good addition to your laptop
