This disc has a good selection of Tom Waits songs. These are the better-known tracks. If you like the popular stuff but not the unknown Tom Waits songs, then it's a good disc for you. Tom Waits never fails to deliver quality. If you aren't familiar with Tom Waits at all, then this is the perfect disc for you (hardcore fans could probably pass on it). Tom Waits style is like this: you have two cars heading toward each other head on. One car is Jazz, and one is Blues. The two cars collide head-on in the Industrial part of town. I think that sums it up well.
It is Tom Waits, so, you never know what to expect. Strange sound not one of my favorites

A rather hard to find used CD that I found on ebay and I am a happy camper! Tom Waits is so freaking cool!
I enjoyed his louisiana blues songs with Waits signiture gravelly voice. The continuity of the Cd was disjointed. I did't enjoy the old time Carnival sound on a couple of songs. The Cd was a cross between Dr John and Captain Beefheart disjointed with carnival music. As the title says Beautiful but a few Maladies 3 out of 5 stars.
