TNA is changing the face of wrestling for the better. That being said, the 50 Greatest Moments DVD is nowhere near the quality that I expected from TNA. It took two separate viewings of this for me to make it all the way through all fifty "moments," and eventually I just started skipping ahead to just see the title to see if it was worth watching. Very few of the "moments" were worth my time. The video does not show any complete matches, instead only a few extremely short clips that don't really let you see anything. However, the DVD spends a great deal of time showing non-match material such as a "funeral for Team 3D," or having phony-sounding interviews about the "moments." Most of the time, the people being interviewed weren't even involved with the match or the event at all - they are just commmenting on it! Expect to see Abyss' manager in 75% of the interviews and The Naturals the rest of the time - I guess no one could find the rest of the participants. None of this is nearly as good as watching even the 1 hour TNA Impact, much less a Pay Per View. The only reason that this DVD got a rating of Average was that it did show the early days of TNA when they used a regular 4-sided ring. It was also cool to look back to see which TNA wrestlers left to go back to the WWE, and which came to TNA from the WWE. Also, each of the 50 "moments" has its own chapter, so you can skip ahead, look at the title and then decide if it is worth watching - otherwise, I would never have finished the DVD. In summary, don't waste your money buying this DVD; if you want to see it, just rent it. I guarantee that you won't have a desire to watch it enough to justify a purchase. If you want to see great TNA wrestling, buy or rent a Pay Per View DVD, order a Pay Per View, or just watch it on television - all of these are much more entertaining than the 50 Greatest Moments of TNA DVDRead full review
Unfortunately this DVD is literally 3 hours of a highlight reel. There are no full or even partial matches, just clips! And the other segments like the debut of (whoever) are also just highlights. It sounds like a great idea but after about a half hour or so it gets boring to me. Even with all of the awesome moments featured, there's just not enough of any particular Greatest Moment to make it worth watching the WHOLE thing more than once. But watching the ones you like best is great to be able to do. I hate saying that because I love TNA, but a double disc set would have allowed them more time for each featured moment which would have made it more enjoyable. I would have done "25 Greatest Moments Volume 1" and then (like the Bloodiest Brawls) released a volume 2 at a later date. If this were done more like WWE's "RAW 15th Anniversary" set with full matches it would have been perfect. BUT that's probably just me. Maybe not though. Still love it!!!! It's an incredible DVD set for any TNA (iMPACT! Wrestling) fan. It had some of the greatest moments but there were also many downfalls to this set. 1) Too many of the moments were debuts from wrestlers, instead of actual moments that became memorable. You don't remember a debut like you remember a Swanton Bomb off the stage. 2) The wrestlers when they were talking about the moment wasn't serious and didn't break script to talk about the moment in real life time, it was perfect for a child who has not yet found out that wrestling is scripted. 3) It's TNA and for so many years, they've made fun of the WWE, even when McMahon wanted to sue them years ago, they continued to do so which is amazing since WWE is too childish to do it to TNA. But some wrestlers on this collection actually was afraid to say WWE, and it took away the meaning from the moment. Overall, it was a nice DVD set, one of those movies in which you could watch straight through and through and not just skip parts.Read full review
well i know it has been around sense 2002 through weekly PPV but this is the only promotion to use the six side ring. if you have been sleeping or never heard of TNA this would be a good way to start. with this dvd you can see how TNA differs from WWE. This is a must buy for anyone that likes TNA or wants to see the promotion for the first time.
this is a good dvd for any true tna fan. you will enjoy it.i have been a wrestling fan for many years and this is one of the better dvd for a best of type.i think it is really a good buy
