If your reading this before Diablo 3 comes out and you really like Diablo 2 then you will really enjoy Titan Quest. The graphics of Diablo 2 have become a bit dated and while its still a great game, Titan Quest is so very similar and does many things much better. Things that Titan Quest does better... -graphics, higher resolution, zooming the view -map is much more detailed -rag doll physics -2 different classes are played on the same character at the same time -no loading screens when entering/exiting structures -magical items just pop up everywhere -enhancements/charms can be added to most items (not just socketed) Things Diablo 2 does better... -randomly generating maps -zero or next to zero bugs/glitches -much more advanced online community Many people will say they like Diablo 2 more and others will say they like Titan Quest more. Bottom line is they are very similar hack and slash games, Diablo 2 just being legendary and Titan Quest just being a more updated version of the genre.Read full review
The game is a typical hack and slash adventture game. Major quests with 'side quests' for experience points and loot. The more enemies you kill nad quests you complete increase your experience points to go to higher character levels which will give you a stornger/smarter/faster character and more loot to sell and purchase better weapons/armor/magic items. Most armor and weapons have 'slots' to piece together fragments of magical enhancements that add additonal functionality. Once you complete all the pieces, a bonus is also added to the armament. The game flows quite well and the graphics are done nicely. Been working fine on my Vista 64 Dual Core 4GB memory system and have been enjoying playing the game.
I got hooked on Iron Lore's Titan Quest/Immortal Throne around 2007. By then, the company had long since shut down, if I'm not mistaken. I had been recently introduced to role game playing. I only ended up playing two. In fact my first game was Diablo. My only complaint was the graphics quality. I am an artist, so I suppose that I am more picky and demanding about that sort of thing. Ok, I seriously AM! Lol. So when my ex-husband introduced me to Titan Quest Immortal Throne, I was immediately hooked and couldn't stay off the computer! I was totally in L❤️VE! Lol. Anyway, I really liked the different monsters, the cool things you can pick up like charms to enhance your armor, weapons and jewelry. The scenery and even the music is beautiful! Usually, one of the first things I do in a game is go to the settings and lower the volume of the music, but not so much with TQ IT! I also love the rare collectable set items you can find. Anything from a sword to greaves. There's tons of ways to enhance your strength, dexterity and intelligence, which you need in order to hurt your enemy. Oh! I almost forgot another thing to mention. You have two skill sets to choose from, and within those skills you gradually increase points within those areas of expertise and choose defense mechanisms, if you will, to wreak havoc and spells and what not, on your enemies! It does take a while, which is fine with me because I will keep playing the same quests over and over again to build points and grow stronger and collect more gold. Yep, your enemies drop gold, but you'll also find chests full of gold, health, mana, weapons, armor and other goodies I haven't mentioned. There's too much for a simpleton like me. So, in a nutshell, I love everything about it! Another great thing to mention is that if you already own or have just purchased TQ Immortal Throne, then you get to download and play the Titan Quest Anniversary upgrade on Steam for free! Oops! I forgot to mention Steam and I forgot to mention how I just found out that the Iron Lore guys tweaked TQ IT. They enhanced this and that. Added stuff. Here is the link for the complete list of changes that they made. So what's new?.... the Steam community and TQ IT wants to know. Well here's their answer: For its 10 year anniversary, Titan Quest will shine in new splendour. This Anniversary Edition combines both Titan Quest and Titan Quest. Immortal Throne in one game, and has been given a massive overhaul for the ultimate ARPG experience. Anniversary Edition update Restored and improved multiplayer functionality, including new features like a built-in voice chat and NAT resolving for best multiplayer connectivity Support for more resolutions, larger camera distance and scaleable UI size Improved performance and general stability Support for modders through new modding options and a fully integrated Steam Workshop Complete balance rework with improvements to all Masteries, damage types, unique items and sets Countless bug fixes and other improvements, including ten years’ worth of community fixes Increased challenges and rewards for larger parties and on higher difficulty levels Dozens of new heroes and bosses to encounter Improved enemy and pet AI Quality of life features like higher stack limits, quick item pickup, a larger stash and a speed setting Reduced cheating with curbed exploits, removal of test items and mod comparison in multiplayer Steam Friend Invites Steam Achievements Steam Trading Cards If you are like me and want something that only requires your mouse pad and F1, and number buttons, and something that's more visually and musically appealing, with tons of cool effects that will never bore you, then look NO FURTHER! I mentioned earlier how I have only ever played two RPG games in my life and that's because I couldn't find another RPG game that was like Titan Quest Immortal Throne! I found out that I wasn't the only one! So TAKE MY ADVICE and BUY IT! You WON'T BE SORRY!Read full review

if you are a fan of the genre diablo/diablo ii, you will love this game. takes a little more video card power than diablo/diablo ii, but the graphics are simply stunning. there is also an ingame option to dummy-down the graphics if your graphics card is having issues keeping up. lighting, shadows, landscapes are really amazing. the 'leaf' shimmering on the trees effect is also breathtaking. gameplay is excellent. its quest driven, and very replay-able. I find myself getting rather caught up in the collection of all the unique items. lots of item drops. wish the inventory was bigger, but some quests add to your inventory bags, so as you advance, you can store more items. also transferring items between toons is allowed in a 'secure' sort of way, as opposed to dropping them in some game and coming in with a mule-toon and picking them up as you have to do in other games. I don't know if I am a fan of the whole 'steam' thing, previous versions of this game that I have owned did not have to be played via steam. but as far as the game itself goes, I would say its a must have.Read full review

Really great game, and has good graphics too. This game is what Diablo 3 should have been, with online AND offline play.
